The Initial Consultation
Your first appointment with will involve a preliminary assessment of your general health and medical history as well as a physical examination and treatment following that if it is deemed appropriate in your case. During this you will be asked about:
During the physical examination you will want to wear loose fitting clothing - sports wear is often the most appropriate. You may be asked change into a gown. This is so that your chiropractor can examine you properly – if you would feel uncomfortable in this situation it is best to alert someone before your appointment so the situation can be managed accordingly. The physical examination involves assessment of posture and movement, as well as specific orthopaedic (joint) and neurological (nervous system) tests to help diagnose your condition.
After your examination you will be guided through your diagnosis in a "Report of Findings". At this point your chiropractor will explain your condition to you and the best course of treatment for resolution and further prevention. At The Chiro Stafford we believe it is important you understand the details and would rather spend the time explaining things to you if you don't understand than letting you walk out feeling as unsure as when you came. If you are happy at this point and the chiropractor has deemed it appropriate, you will then be able to consent to being treated and can begin treatment right away.
